Why Alpaca Fiber?
Warmer than wool, softer than cashmere, silkier than mohair, alpaca is one of Earth's rarest natural fibers. Luxurious alpaca fiber is perfect for spring days, cool summer evenings, or frigid winter weather. Alpaca is a natural choice for today's eco-conscious consumer.

Does not contain grease, oil, or lanolin so processing is naturally 'green' and hypo-allergenic
Is extremely fine, won't make you itch
Is a hollow core fiber, providing excellent insulative or thermal qualities
Naturally moisture-wicking, does not retain water
Has a high tensile strength and is abraision resistent providing long wearability
Dyes easily and blends with other natural or synthetic fibers

Fiber Products

Shearing will be in May so raw fiber will be available at that time.

We have raw fiber, roving, as well as handspun yarn and woven items.
Current natural colors available: white, light fawn, medium fawn, medium brown, dark brown, medium grey.
Yarn available in 100% alpaca or blended with wool, angora, or other natural fibers.
Handspun yarns run around $5-7/oz; rovings run around $3 oz.

Various dying techniques can also be handled.

Handwoven blankets can be made 45" wide by any length or double-woven for up to 80" wide, prices start at $300 and go from there depending on what you would like and complexity of weave.
